PROPOSALS TABLED [please contact Bob Darling (x2923 or [email protected])]

New Courses:

SOC 235 Globalization (tabled 6-0)

The first sentence of the catalog description should read either: Exploration, from a sociological perspective, of the sources, processes, and consequences of globalization. or Exploration of the sources, processes, and consequences of globalization from a sociological perspective.

We are concerned about potential overlap with ECO 305. Can you provide us with a memo from Tim Phillips indicating his perspective.

SOC 335 Technology and Society (tabled 6-0)

The committee thinks the goals/objective should be rewritten. Its not clear what are the student learning outcomes. The objectives could be rewritten so that The students will be able to answer the following questions

There is overlap with some SCI courses in GE12. Therefore, we would like to see commentary from the four science chairs (L. Gatto, C. McRoberts, R. Wheeler, R. Darling).
